Parking and travelling
Although London Heathrow Airport is quite a distance from central London, it is connect by high-speed rail. Regular bus services are also convenient to points north of London.
Rail : from the basement level, the Heathrow Express leaves every 15 minutes between 08:00 and 17:00 on weekdays, and every half hour in non-peak hours, arriving at London Liverpool Street Station 40 minutes later and costing £15 one-way. An hourly slow service stops at local stations.
Bus : from the terminal forecourt, the Airbus A6 departs every 20 minutes (peak times) for London Victoria Station, stopping at north London points (duration 60 minutes). Local buses also service nearby towns.
Car : Heathrow is located off the Junction 8 roundabout of the M11 motorway and is 20 minutes drive from Junction 27 of the M25.
Parking : costs more than £1.60 per 30 minutes for short stay, but better deals are available online for long stay. Short-stay tickets should be paid for at vending machines in the terminal. The first 15 minutes are free, and the lot is adjacent to the terminal. Mid-stay car parks are better value and a five-minute bus ride away. Security-guaranteed long-stay parking is considerably cheaper using off-site lots and a frequent shuttle service.
