Parking and travelling
Manchester International Airport is well connected by trains, buses, coaches, taxis and car hire services. Serving the Greater Manchester northwest England area, it is also well linked to the region’s motorway network, giving passengers easy access to many northwest destinations.
Rail : the centre of Manchester is only 20 minutes away by train from the airport, and taking the train is by far the most convenient transfer option. Via Manchester Piccadilly Station, rail services link the airport with over 100 UK destinations. Frequent services to London take less than 3 hours.
Bus : t hree main bus companies operate out of Manchester International Airport, providing services to Manchester, Altrincham and Stockport. National Express links the airport with other UK towns and cities. The bus terminal is located outside Terminal 1 and from here, buses leave every 30 minutes.
Car : Manchester International Airport is easily reachable from any part of the northwest of England via the M56. The routes leading to Manchester Airport run along busy motorways, particularly the M56. When travelling to the airport during rush hours, make sure to allow additional time for potential traffic delays.
Parking : about 14,000 parking spaces are provided across a number of facilities . These include short-term and long-term options as well as facilities for disabled persons. Long-term facilities are well guarded, with a variety of security measures in place.
