Childrens facilities
When I first started this project, I was worried this page would be rather empty, I was pleasantly surprised there is so much on offer, in the current climate you can almost book the delays. When you travel with children they seem to enjoy the trip for the first hour or two, after that, well, they get grumpy and generally bored, traveling from this airport would be a pleasure, even if you are delayed by a couple of hours, there is plenty here to keep them entertained and your sanity intact.
Baby changing
There are four changing stations in the airport, two of which are landside (Before check-in) and a further two airside (After check-in) . These facilities are well sign posted, and well maintained.
The Game grid
About time too, an airport which has decent provisions for older children, I am a parent and have been stuck for hours with two children and NOTHING for them to do. This area has been well thought through and offers many exciting things to do including, dance mats, air hokey and even an machine to improve you children’s goal scoring.
The Children’s area
And for the smaller children there is a soft play area with a huge plasma screen showing cartoons, also sit and ride machines are on offer, unfortunately there are vending machines for sweet, parents you will understand my last comment.
Children’s food
The majority of food vendors cater for children’s meals, although the best place in my opinion would be The Real food company, great food and also a machine which has molten chocolate for dipping fresh fruit, great idea guys!
Alpha Airport shopping
You will find an ok selection of children’s clothes, toys, soft toys and sweets.
WH Smith
As a parent you will be familiar with the range WH Smith stocks, plenty of pens and paper to keep them entertained, books galore and a very good selection of Crayola products.
Boots
If you forget any toiletries or baby bits, Boots carries a very good range of essential products |
