Parking and travelling
Buses are the most popular means of reaching Southampton central, but a rail service connecting extensively to the south and southwest is nearby. Taxis are also numerous and widely used.
Rail : Southampton Airport (Parkway) Station is within walking distance, with up-to three fast connections to London Waterloo Station each hour and far more frequent services to Southampton, where there are connections to south coast towns and cities.
Bus : number 101 links the airport with Southampton University as well as central Southampton, but only departs hourly. Private shuttle companies Solent Blue Line and Uni Link run more regular services to Southampton and regional destinations.
Car : Southampton central is only a few miles from the airport, making car hire popular. From Southampton, t ake the A33, then turn right onto the A335 and finally right again onto the A35. This joins the A27, where you can follow the signs to the airport.
Parking : there is a short-stay parking lot adjacent to the terminal with 1,300 spaces and convenient access to both the Arrivals and Check-in areas via ramps and crosswalks. The long-stay parking area is much farther away, but significantly cheaper, booked most conveniently here online. There are 850 security-monitored parking bays, and a shuttle departs at least every 12 minutes, taking a couple of minutes to reach the terminal.
